Forcing Chains
This is a very easy technique
to understand, but it can also take a little time to utilize in a puzzle.
Forcing chain is
when you have a series of
cells with just 2 possible candidates - and whatever value you enter for
one forces another
cell to be one of its two
values.
Double Pairs
The double pairs technique
relies on you spotting two pairs of candidates for a given number, and
than using them
to rule out any possible
candidates from other boxes.
Elimination
This is a basic elimination
technique that's also called unit elimination or group Elimination,
it can go a far way in
helping you solve medium
level sudoku puzzles quickly.
The idea behind it is to find
the only number that is possible in a cell via a column, a row or a block
and than
to eliminate all the unassigned
cells until there is only one possibility left.
Candidates
Candidates is very easy to
use whereby you use pencil marks to enter what numbers are still possible
in each unsolved
cell. If you examine all
the surrounding columns and rows etc amd manage to eliminate all the other
possibible numbers
for a particular cell so
that there is only one number left you can than enter in that number.
Whichever technique you use to help you solve sudoku
